Cuba hopeful tomorrow after failed debut in World Judo Championships

HAVANA, Cuba, May 9 (ACN) Maylin del Toro (63 kg) will be in action this Wednesday against the winner of the fight between Clarise Agbegnenou (France) and Anja Obadovic (Serbia), in pool C, after the failed debut of Arnaes Odelin (57 kg) and Estrada (73 kg),

On Thursday, Ivan Silva (90 kg/D) and Idelannis Gomez (70 kg/C) will fight the winner of the match between the Czech David Klammert and the French Maxime-Gael Ngayap, and the Slovak Anka Pogacnik, in that order, followed on Friday by Liester Cardona (100 kg/C) against the British Harry Lovell-Kewitt.

On Saturday, the last day of the individual competition, Andy Granda (+100/D) and Idalis Ortiz (+78 kg/D) will debut against the winner of the match between the two teams.

In the championship, 657 judokas -343 men and 314 women- from 99 countries are participating, and the mixed team competition will take place this Sunday with the presence of 211 athletes -110 (m) and 101 (f) - from 18 nations.
