Cuba continues with good results at Alba Games

 HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 28 (ACN) Roxana Gomez, Olympic finalist in Tokyo 2020, became today another Cuban champion in athletics at the 5th Alba Sports Games, to be held in Venezuela until the 29th of April.

In the stadium of the Bolivarian Military University of Fuerte Tiuna, Gomez finished with a time of 50.75 seconds (sec), in a race in which she was comfortable from the start.

Her teammate Lisneidys Venetia followed her in the final of the 400 meters (m), stopping the clocks with a time of 52.49 seconds; while the bronze medal was won by the Venezuelan Wilismar Padron (54.58 sec), according to the official website of the event.

Cuba won three titles in athletics on Wednesday, through Yasmani Fernandez and Yaritza de la Caridad Martinez, winners in the hammer throw, to which was added the crown of long jumper Alejandro Antonio Parada.

On the other hand, Cuban fencing won two silver medals in the closing of its competitive action at Alba Games.

In the Gymnasium of the Military Academy of the Guard EFOFAC, the men's epee and women's foil teams brought the last medals to the good results of the Cuban delegation in this tournament.

With these performances, Cuban fencers won four gold, six silver and three bronze medals, for a total of 13 awards.
