Cuba in three finals today in Pan American qualifiers

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 19 (ACN) Cuba will be today in three A finals and one B of the rowing qualifiers for the Pan American Games held in San Pedro de La Paz, Chile.

The Cuban rowers who will compete in the A finals are the single sculler Ana Laura Jimenez and the women’s and men’s double scullers Milena Venegas/Yariulvis Cobas and Carlos Ajete/Reydi Cardona, respectively. Likewise, the single sculler Yoelvis Hernandezs will be discussing the 7-to-12 places in the M1x B final.

All four Cuban boats are already qualified for the 2023 Pan Am Games in Chile, so the main goal is to improve Cuba’s place on the medal table, since the Island currently ranks fourth thanks to one gold and one silver medal.

Chile (4-0-2) is leading the qualifying tournament, followed by the United States (1-3-1) and Uruguay (1-2-1).
