HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 30 (ACN) Two Cubans will compete today in the Pan American Weightlifting Championship held in Bariloche, Argentina, a qualifying competition for the 2024 Olympic Games.
Cuba has already won two silver medals in this event through Arley Calderón (61 kg), who finished second in clean and jerk (155 kg) and total (275 kg) in a competition won by the American Hampton Miller with 123, 158 and 281 kg respectively.
Yeniuska Mirabal Feria (71 kg) and Ayamey Medina Roca (81 kg) will be today’s Cuban representatives in this event that gathers some 210 athletes from 22 countries, including 14 medallists from the 2022 IWF World Championships held in Bogota, last December.
