HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 23 (ACN) Cuba's rowers are stepping up preparations at their headquarters at the La Coronela dam(western Cuba) ahead of the qualifying tournament for the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile 2023, a multi-sport event scheduled to take place October 25-November 5.
Angel Luis Garcia, president and national commissioner, informed today to the Cuban News Agency that after a fruitful training base in Villa Clara(center region), the 25 pre-selected players returned to their headquarters.
Garcia added that now in Artemisa, they continue training to define the crews, mainly the collective ones that must attend the event that will grant places for Santiago de Chile, April 15 to 19.
The Cuban federative emphasized that participating in the qualifier has a double importance, since in addition to seeking the places in dispute, it will have as a stage the Laguna Gran de San Pedro de la Paz, the same that will host the rowing in the Pan American Games.
He recalled that all this is also part of the preparation for the Central American and Caribbean Games of San Salvador 2023, scheduled to take place June 23 to July 8.
