Cuban baseball team to compete in 5th World Classic play third preparatory game

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 20 (ACN) The Cuban baseball team that will participate at the 5th World Baseball Classic will play Tuesday its third preparatory game in Japan in view of its participation in the event.

As reported on Twitter by the Cuban Baseball Federation, the game will be against the Yakult Swallows.

In the second preparatory game, Cuba defeated on Sunday 3-2 the Chunichi Dragons of the NPB, after losing 2-11 to the Nippon Ham Fighters.

The Jit publication specifies that the challenge against the Yakult Swallows will be the penultimate game of the Caribbean team on the island of Okinawa (Japan), where a day later it will play against the Yomiuri Giants.

After that game, the information added, the Cuban team will travel to Miyazaki, where it will face the SoftBank Falcons on the following day.

In the World Classic to be held in Taipei, China, the Cubans will make their debut against the Netherlands on March 8.
