U17 Soccer: Cuba was thrashed 4-0 by Costa Rica

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 15 (ACN) The Cuban soccer team was defeated 4-0 on Tuesday by the favorite Costa Ricans in the 2023 CONCACAF U-17 Championship, held in Guatemala City with 16 steams divided into four groups.

Game statistics have it that Cuba took more shots (17), but only one was on goal, whereas Costa Rica took 13, of which five were on target and four scored.

After these results, Costa Rica leads Group G with six points, followed by Guadeloupe and Jamaica with three. Having lost two games in a row—Jamaica beat them 4-2 in their first appearance—the Cubans are in fourth and last place and have zero points, so they are forced to win by a wide margin when they play against Guadeloupe on Thursday.
