HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 10 (ACN) Cuban Cecilia Diaz Mesa will face this weekend with the Red Star Belgrade club in the second qualifying tournament of the Danube Water Polo League, a competition of top clubs in Europe.
The Serbian League runner-up team will play against German Spandau, Hungarian Senteš and Czech Republic's Strakonjic, Red Star announced today on its official website.
In the first stage of the Danube competition in the current edition, the red-and-whites overcame Partizan of Serbia and lost to Serbia's Vojvodina and Hungary's BVSC.
Diaz Mesa is once again a standout in the Red Star offense this season, both in the Danube event and in the Serbian championship, where the Belgian team is in second place, in another season of strong rivalry for the title against champion Vojvodina.
