HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 8 (ACN) Cuban triple jumpers Liadagmis Povea and Leyanis Pérez, as well as long jumper Maykel Massó, will compete today in the continuation of the indoor winter tour of 2023.
Massó, third in Tokyo 2020 and U20 champion in 2016, should make his debut of the year in the World Athletics Indoor Tour of Torun, Poland, where he will try to improve his personal indoor record of 8.08m, achieved in Germany two years ago.
As to the triple jumpers, Povea—fifth in Tokyo 2020 and third in the 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima—and Pérez— winner of the 1st Junior Pan American Games in Colombia in 2021 and of the Ibero-American tournament held last year in Alicante, Spain, and fourth in the 18th World Athletics Championships in Eugene, United States—will be in Mondeville, France, their second presentation, after finishing first and second in Karlsruhe, Germany, on January 27.
