HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 26 (acn) The Cuban men's basketball team defeated 79-66 Jamaica, in the 22nd Central American and Caribbean Games, which houses the Mexican city of Veracruz.
Cuba's main scorers were Osmel Oliva, with 20 points, Javier Justiz and Lisván Valdes, both with 17 points, while Jamaican Weyinmi Rose scored 30 for his team.
Justiz was also the best rebounder of the match with 19, while his teammate Oliva led the assists with five.
Cuba will have today a very tough opponent in Puerto Rico, one of the favorite teams to win the gold medal in the contest.
