HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 24 (ACN) Cuban Greco-Roman wrestlers Luis Orta (67 kg) and Oscar Pino (130 kg) will make their next stop in Zagreb, Croatia, where they will participate in the 1st Ranking Series of wrestling, to be held February 1 to 5.
Martin Torres, national commissioner of that sport, confirmed today to the Cuban News Agency the presence of both wrestlers in that tournament, where they will first carry out a training base with coach Raul Trujillo.
Orta, Olympic champion in Tokyo 2020, and Pino, two-time medalist in World Championships, won the title last Sunday in the final day of the Grand Prix Henri Deglane, held in Nice, France.
In that event, the winner of the Japanese summer event won with a score of 7-2 in the discussion of the gold medal against the local Tigran Galustyan.
In the case of Pino, owner of a silver and a bronze medal in universal competitions, he won the crown without conceding points and with a 5-0 success in the final against the German Franz Richter, to whom he applied two unbalances to leave him with no chance of victory.
For both Cuban players, this was the first competitive challenge in the current year 2023, in which there will be three multisport games in the American continent.
