HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 22 (ACN) A walk-off single by third baseman Osvaldo Abreu gave Team Agricultores a 7-6 victory over Portuarios in the seventh and final game of the 1st Cuban Elite Baseball League.
Agricultores, made up of players from the eastern provinces of Granma and Las Tunas, will be therefore Cuba’s representative in the Caribbean Series to be held in Caracas in February.
This is the fourth title won by head coach Carlos Martí in as many finals involving a team under his guidance, since he has won three national championships with Alazanes de Granma.
