Cuba loses 0-6 to Puerto Rico in Caribbean Baseball Cup

 HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 6 (ACN) Team Cuba’s fateful batting slump led to its 0-6 shutout against Puerto Rico in the 4th Caribbean Cup held the Bahamas.


The Cubans notched up only one single off the starter and eventual winner José Carlos Burgos, who managed to hold his ground on the mound for 6.1 innings despite walking four players, whereas relievers Oscar Rivera and Josué Montanez gave our hitters no leeway.

On Wednesday, Cuba will be opposite the host team, whereas Thursday will mark the end of the qualifying round with a game against the defending champion Curaçao, which suffered its first loss to the U.S. Virgin Islands but still leads the standings with a 2-1 record.
