Havana, Dec 1 (ACN) The Cuban delegation to take place at the World Weightlifting Championship left Thursday for Bogota, Colombia, venue of the event running December 5 to 16, which gives tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Cuban team is made up of Ayamey Medina (81 kilos), Arley Calderon (67 kilos), Ariolvis Begue (89 kilos) and Olfide Saez (89 kilos).
The championship will be contested by weightlifters from 100 countries of the world.
Cuba’s most recent and noticeable results in a world weightlifting championship included two silver medals in the 45 kilos category by Ludia Montero at Thailand 2019.
