Cuban swimmers to try to improve today at games in Santa Marta 2022

 HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 25 (ACN) Cuban swimmers will compete today in the 1rst Central American and Caribbean Sea and Beach Games in the mixed 4,000-meter relay, after a discreet performance on Thursday.

The Cuban quartet will face rivals from Venezuela, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Colombia, Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago, according to the program on the official website of the event.

On the previous day, the 5th place of Andrea Becali was the best of Cuba in the 3,000 meters, at the start of the open water swimming tournament in the multiple event in Santa Marta.

Daine Pedre finished 14th among 19 swimmers, while Jonathan Perez finished in 14th place and Rodolfo Falcon ( Jr.) in last place along with three competitors without official results, among 21 contestants.

Swimming will conclude tomorrow with the 5,000 meters for women and men.

Cuba, which participates in only three of the 10 sports in Santa Marta, is in 14th place among 24 countries led by Venezuela with 11 gold, seven silver and five bronze medals.
