Cuban women undefeated at the World Absolute Basque Pelota Camp in Biarritz

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 25 (ACN) Cuban medalists Yasmary Medina and Daniela Darriba won again at the Basque Pelota Absolute World Championship in Biarritz, France, where today they beat a Peruvian duo 2-0.

The Cuban duo won in frontenis by a score of 15-7 in the two partial games against the Peruvians Jessenia Bernal and Nathaly Rousse Paredes, according to the standings on the official website of the International Federation of Basque Pelota.

In the start of the 30-meter fronton event on Monday, the Caribbean women defeated two Argentines by scores of 15-8 and 15-4.

Tomorrow Cuba will face Spain to advance to the semifinals, in a contest that schedules the medal matches for Friday.

For Cuba, Suniaris de la Caridad Rodriguez also triumphed on Monday due to the no-show of his opponent from Bolivia; and Cristian Abreu by 10-3 and 10-6 over a representative from Uruguay, in both cases in frontball.
