Cuba advances and waits for next opponent in Volleyball World Cup

 HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 30 (ACN) Cuba advanced to the 16-team stage of the 20th Volleyball Men’s Championship even after losing 1-3 to Japan in Pool B, led by Brazil—undefeated in three games—with eight points, followed by the Japanese (6), the Cubans (4) and the Qatari (3).

Team Cuba, which made it to the said stage thanks to Slovenia’s win over Germany, will have to wait for Wednesday's results to know its next opponent in this round.

The pending matches of the event, held jointly in Slovenia and Poland, are Argentina-Egypt and Iran-Netherlands in Pool F, Canada-Turkey and Italy-China in Pool E, and Serbia-Tunisia and Ukraine-Puerto Rico in Pool A.
