HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 3 (ACN) The Cuban women’s team beat Colombia and their male teammates tied with Spain to remain on the top-ten list of Chennai Chess Olympiad after six of the eleven days of the tournament.
The former climbed ten tiers and now have nine points, good enough to rank 20th in a competition led by the main local team with 12 points—still undefeated after its victory against Georgia—whereas the latter are in 8th place after the previous day’s results.
After a free day on Thursday, the matches will continue on Friday, when the Cuban men’s team will take on India B in the gender-neutral competition and the women’s will be opposite Mongolia.
