Cuban volleyball players in South Korea for Seoul World Championships

HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 26 (ACN) Cuba's men's volleyball team is training in Seoul, South Korea, venue of the 2022 Volleyball Men’s Challenger Cup from July 28 to 31, a tournament that will qualify a single team for the 2023 FIVB Nations League.

Team Cuba arrived Sunday and is already training in Seoul—with a time difference of 13 hours—after a long trip that included stopovers in Caracas, Venezuela, and Istanbul, Türkiye.

The Cubans won the ticket to the Challenger at the recent NORCECA Pan American Cup Final Six held in Nayarit, Mexico, where they also qualified for the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile.

A few days before the departure, the Cuban Federation (FCV) reported the regrettable absences of Roberlandy Simón and Liván Osoria, who tested positive to COVID-19.

The Cubans will debut on Thursday 28 against Chile and, if they win, they will be opposite the winner of the game between Tunisians and Czechs.
