HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 25 (ACN) Cuba's women's and men's teams remained undefeated in the water polo tournament of the 34th edition of the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Championships, held in Barbados, after the former—already qualified for the finals—beat Trinidad and Tobago (30-1) and the latter Bahamas (17-1).
As in previous games, Aliannis Ramírez, Thaimí González and Dalia Grau stood out among the women with six goals each, whereas Pedro Ponsa led the men’s game with seven goals.
This competition is a qualifier for the Central American and Caribbean Games of San Salvador 2023, where the Cuban women's team hopes to retain the title won in Barranquilla 2018 and the men will strive to win, since they finished second in the previous edition.
