HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 17 (ACN) The Cuban men's and women's water polo teams will be in the qualifiers for the Central American and Caribbean Games of San Salvador 2023.
Scheduled for July 20 to 26 in Barbados, the 34th Central American and Caribbean Swimming Championships (CCCAN) will feature teams from Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, Bahamas, Guatemala and Barbados.
Leading the women's team is Aliannis Ramirez, who plays for Slovakia's champion club Olympia Kosice, whereas Pedro Ponsa, hired in Brazil, stands out among the men.
The Cuban women’s team won the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games held in Barranquilla after a 12-5 victory against Puerto Rico, and the men lost 12-10 to Colombia in the final game to finish second.
