HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 14 (ACN) The Cuban women's basketball team will play against Jamaica in the second day of this Caribbean tournament, underway in this city until July 18.
After defeating the Bahamas 76-44 on Wednesday, Team Cuba will try to remain undefeated in this four-team competition, which will grant to places for the Centrobasket, which in turn qualify seven teams for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in El Salvador.
The Cubans boast a mixture of experienced players like Yamara Amargo and Anisleidy Galindo, both of whom play in Mexican clubs, and young prospects like Isabela Jordain, hired in Portugal’s second-level league, and Naomi Vargas, an outstanding figure of the Cuban national champion team Santiago de Cuba.
