Cuban divers still on a roll in world championships

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 29 (ACN) Cuban divers Anisley Garcia and Luis Gustavo Cañabate finished 12th among the mixed 3m & 10m teams at the World Aquatics Championships in Hungary.

Regardless of a scoreless last dive, Garcia and Cañabate totaled 237.55 points in the final, won by China, France and the United Kingdom, in that order.

The Cubans once again proved to be ready for top-level competitions, even after missing a chance to get a much better result.

Garcia became the first Cuban to make it to a world final in this sport after qualifying in the 10-m platform, whereas Cañabate finished in a great sixth position in a synchronized duet with Carlos Daniel Ramos in the same event.
