Cuban track and field athletes in Montreuil, France

Havana, Jun 2 (ACN) Four Cubans, led by the discus thrower Yaimé Pérez, world champion in Doha 2019 and third place in the Tokyo Olympic Games, will compete today in the athletics events in Montreuil, France, with silver category of the World Athletics Continental Tour.

Alongside Yaimé will be the triple jumpers Lázaro Martínez—indoor world champion—and Andy Hechevarría and Rose Mary Almanza (800 meters).

Yaimé and Martinez finished first in the Ibero-American Track and Field Championships of May 22 in Alicante, Spain.

After Montreuil, Cuba will participate in the Diamond League in Rabat, Morocco (June 5), where Olympic bronze medalist Maykel Massó (long jump) and triple jumpers Liadagmis Povea and Leyanis Pérez will also compete.
