HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 19 (ACN) Cuban beach volleyball duo Noslen Diaz and Jorge Luis Alayo will seek this Saturday the world ticket in the qualifying tournament in Mexico, scheduled to be held this weekend in the resort of Aguascalientes.
Diaz and Alayo were at the gates of discussing the place for the world championship scheduled from June 7 to 19 in Rome, Italy, in the previous weekend's competition held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where they advanced to the semifinals, interrupted by bad weather.
The Cubans will face in a postponed match the Mexican duo of Gabriel Cruz-Isaias Aguirre, while in the other of this stage will be in action the Puerto Rican duo of Rodriguez-Riba and the U.S. duo of Taylor Crabb-Taylor Sander, and the winners will secure the world championship places.
Diaz-Alayo, in group B, successively overcame in Santo Domingo the Mexicans Cruz-Aguirre, 2-0 (21-15 and 21-18) and the Puerto Ricans Rodriguez-Ribas, 2-1 (23-25, 21-19 and 15-6), in that order, according to the site www.norceca.net.
