HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 4 (ACN) The Cuban women's team reached the semifinals today, after finishing undefeated in the group stage of the 62nd edition of the Caribbean Table Tennis Championship, a Pan American and World Championship qualifier being held in Havana.

Idalys Lovet, Lizdainet Rodriguez and Karla Perez completed Cuba's unbeaten run by defeating the Jamaican team, made up of Gianna Lewis, Solesha Young and Jannel Blake Friday.

Lovet beat Lewis, Rodriguez beat Young and Perez Blake, all by 3-0 scores.

Cuba's men's team must also finish the group phase undefeated, as they only have to face Haiti.

The competition, which lasts until March 8, will also feature singles and doubles events for women and men and mixed doubles (one player of each sex), and serves as a qualifying platform for the Pan American Championship next October and the 2022 World Championship.
