HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 9 (ACN) The Cuban delegation of 10 judokas, three technicians and a doctor who participated last weekend in the Grand Slam in Paris will be joined by another two athletes and a coach, with a view to competing in three Grand Slams.
They will train for a month in Paris before the Grand Slam in Tel Aviv, Israel (February 17-19); Tbilisi, Georgia (March 25-27); and Antalya, Turkey (April 1-3).
Last Sunday, Ivan Silva's seventh place in the 90-kg division was Team Cuba’s best result in the Grand Slam of Paris, attended by 285 judokas from 52 countries.
Andy Granda (+100 kg), Idelannis Gómez (70 kg) and Thalía Nariño (+78 kg), Aleanny Carbonell (48), Melissa Hurtado (52), Arnaes Odelín (57), Maylín del Toro (63), Orlando Polanco (66) and Héctor San Román (73) lost in their first presentations.
