Havana, Dec 3 (ACN) Cuban wrestlers have thus far taken eight gold medals at the First Pan-Am Junior Games in Cali, Colombia after Milaimys Marin and Osmany Diversent garnered two gold medals on Friday.
Milaimys defeated Argentinean Linda Machuca after winning over Puerto Rican Daniela Hechavarria and US Kylie Welker, who is the current sub-23 world champ.
Meanwhile, Osmany Diversent went for the gold after defeating Canadian David Papadopoulos and US Richard Figueroa Li. So later he won the final against Peruvian Enrique Herrera.
The eight medals won by Cuba thus far belong to four won by the Greco-roman team, three by the women collective and one by the free style. Another four Cuban wrestlers are scheduled to fight on Saturday.
