Cuban female handball players for second victory in I Pan American Junior Games

Havana, Nov 24 (ACN) The Cuban women's handball team will seek today its second victory in the First Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia, to be held until December 5.

The Cubans, who scored a sensational 30-29 victory against Brazil yesterday, will be opposite Paraguay today in what seems to be a good opportunity to prove that what happened on Tuesday was not a coincidence, albeit they should not be overconfident.

Against the Brazilians, the team had to come from behind for almost the entire game, but Jennifer Amanda Toledo managed to score a tie-breaking goal just a few seconds before the final whistle to achieve an important win.

Team Cuba lost the first half 14-15, but rose to the challenge in the second under the leadership of Toledo, hired by the Spanish club Rocasa Gran Canaria club, who scored almost half of the goals (13), and Liliamnis Rosabal (6). Fernanda Paulino de Lima (6) and Maria Grasielly (5) stood out for the Brazilians.

With this victory against one of the favorite teams in the Games, considered a shoo-in for the podium despite its opening defeat, the Cubans have a good chance to advance to the semifinals.
