Cuban Arlenis Sierra to try keeping among the first in Tour l'Ardèche

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 10 (ACN) Cuban cyclist Arlenis Sierra will face today the third of seven stages of the Tour l'Ardèche, in France, where she suffered a fall yesterday and dropped to second place in the overall standings, although she is still the points leader among some 200 riders from 20 multinational teams.

Today they will race a 133.858-kilometer (km) circuit in Avignon, in the 19th edition of a pre-race race for the World Road Cycling Championships, scheduled for 19-26 this month in Belgium.

Cuban cyclist, who triumphed at the start on Wednesday, moved to second place in the general classification, nine seconds behind Thomas, who accumulates 6:34.46 hours, but she continues as points leader, with 22 points, ahead of British Elizabeth Deignan (17) and Thomas (15).

Sierra, 28, arrived in France after winning last August 29th the Giro della Toscana in Italy, where she repeated the title of the previous edition, with the leadership during the three stages of this world classic.
