International Congress GastroCuba 2019 opens in Havana

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 22 (ACN) United for better digestive health is the slogan of the 7th International Congress GastroCuba 2019, to be held in Havana on Oct 22-27 with the participation of specialists from a dozen nations.

The event, held at the Havana Convention Center, will show new techniques and trends for the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases, announced Dr. Mirtha Infante, president of the organizing committee.
The issues will deal with the management of liver ailments and inflammatory bowel diseases, gastrointestinal disorders in pediatric age, technological advances and teaching of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy as well as Gastroenterology Emergencies, among others.
Infante, President of the Cuban Society of Gastroenterology highlighted the significance for Cuban professionals of this event which also will expose the new surgical methods used in the world.
Gastroenterologists from Peru, Brazil, Dominican Republic, United States and Cuba, among other countries will attend the event which will focus scientific debates on the early diagnosis of digestive cancer, which is the fourth cause of death from tumors in the Americas region, the expert stressed.
Symposia, meetings and exchanges among specialists will be held as part of the Congress.
