HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 14 (acn) Giselle Velazquez, Regional Business Manager of the Cuba´s Molecular Immunology Center, concluded a visit to Ukraine, Prensa Latina (PL) news agency reported.
During her stay there, several domestic centers linked to pharmacology and medicine showed interest in the novel products of Cuban biotechnology.
In a population where one of the leading causes of death is cancer, collaboration between Cuba and Ukraine would be a positive contribution to the fight against this negative trend in the health sector of that European nation, diplomatic sources noted.
Cuba and Ukraine recently renewed the treatment program on the Caribbean island for children affected by the tragedy on April 1986 at the Vladimir I. Lenin nuclear plant in the Ukrainian town of Chernobyl.
The aforementioned treatment benefited more than 23,000 children in the first 20 years of the program, which initial stage ended in 2011.
