Challenges in Cuban Science Debated in Holguin

HOLGUIN, Cuba, Feb 21 (ACN) Researcher of the Molecular Immunology Center, Dr. Agustin Lage began on Wednesday in Holguin the 10th Edition of the Exposcience 2018 Provincial Event with a master conference on the challenges of Cuban science.

Lage spoke on the main challenges of the sector in the current world scenario, among them its relations with globalization and the need for entities with high technology to export its services aimed at generating major development.

He also mentioned the applications in the field in the software industry, information technology, nanotechnology and biotechnology and the need to turn the methods of scientific thinking into a phenomenon in which the new and discipline are the starting points.

The expert also referred to the contributions of Cuba's National Hero Jose Marti to the sector and his concepts on the process of technological innovation contributed in the 18th century and closely related with creativity.

During Wednesday's session, a panel was held on industrial property and the role of brand names in commercialization processes of Cuban companies where specialists of the Cuban office dedicated to the sector participated in the discussions.

Exposcience was held for the first time in 2008, as a space of exchange among scientists, innovators and specialists in different fields, whose contributions materialize in goods and services.

In this case, the event will conclude February 23rd and is dedicated to Jose Marti, Ernesto Che Guevara and Rosa Elena Simeon Negrin, remembered by their contributions to the development of science and innovation in Cuba.
