Public Health Law 41 in its article 99, establishes that the Ministry of Public Health controls the import, export, elaboration, storage, distribution, circulation, sale and use or application of drugs and Psychotropic Drug.

Each year, the Youth Commission of the ACNU and the Center for the Academic Development on Drug Dependents, known as Cedro, share criteria regarding the situation in the county and the world.

The UN General Assembly created International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26th 1987 to reinforce action and cooperation aimed at achieving a free society of drug consumption.
