Health Professionals at International Congress

Ciego de Avila, Cuba, Apr 4 (acn) Health specialists in Ciego de Avila will participate in the 7th International Emergency and Intensive Care Congress from April 12th to the 14th, at Havana's Convention Center.

One of the first pre Congress courses called URGRAV-2017 to be held at the Roberto Rodriguez Fernandez Hospital in Moron with the participation of 65 doctors while another symposium will discuss various issues to be held next Saturday.

Dr. in Sciences Jesus Lacerda Gallardo, organizer of both events told ACN that these debates and the unification of criteria enrich the knowledge of the population.

The idea that we are taking to the congress, he said, is based on the development of new surgical techniques and protocols of medical treatment in intensive therapy of patients affected by cranial trauma.

The specialist expressed that UGRAV-2017 will present works directed to the application of cerebral monitoring and tests to establish treatment norms which are not carried out in a systematic way in all of the cases.

Professor Lacerda Gallardo pointed out that among the issues to debate is the intracranial pressure, cerebral perfusion and the intracranial hypertension among others of national and international interest in saving lives and whose experiences are also always put into good use for graduates and medical students.

He added that research that will be presented during the URGRAV-2017 event will include, among others, techniques of the evaluation of cerebral adaptation and elasticity.

They will be directed in informing and verifying the learning of methods to determine parameters, global and local monitoring systems, and necessary therapeutic management and ultrasound techniques.

The Roberto Rodriguez Fernandez Hospital that covers the inhabitants of the center and north of the province of Ciego de Avila was constructed in the 1980's at a cost of 24 million pesos. The hospital has one of the best team of specialists in Neurosurgery in the country.
