Cuba to host First International Congress on Esthetics and Health

HAVANA, Cuba, May 11 (acn) Cuba will hold the First International Congress on Esthetics, Cosmetology and Esthetics Medicine to be held from July 1st to the 3rd in Havana aimed at preventing damages to health that can arise from the lack of professional training.

During a press conference held on Monday at the Hotel Melia Habana with representatives of institutions that are sponsoring the event, Argentinean Diego Tomatis, President of the international organizing committee, highlighted that the event will turn Cuba into a beacon for all of the Americas.

This is not only because of the regulations, established in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia but also by the support of the National Council of Scientific, Pharmaceutical Societies, Medical Services and the University of Havana among other institutions, he said.

Author of the book entitled: Esthetics: the forgotten profession, Tomatis explained that the encounter, to be held at Havana´s Convention Center will hold a theoretical event aimed at exchanges among professionals from different areas related with esthetics and human health.

Some of the event´s areas will be harmonizing the chemical application and marketing of esthetics and cosmetology, esthetic medicine and derma-cosmetology are main aspects to guarantee the quality of life of people.

Juan Magrina, from Argentina responsible for the trade fair that will be held parallel to the congress, to be held for the first time in the region, highlighted the support of the Cuban Public Health Ministry and the need to link esthetics to medicine to avoid excess that is committed by the lack of training and the application of some methods and equipment.

Products from several countries will be demonstrated in the event, among them some 25 Cuban companies including health centers and a similar amount from foreign entities, reported ACN.

The congress includes a Seminar of Responsible Esthetics offered by experts from other nations with the participation of representatives of the private sector and cooperative workers and students from the Cuban Bellacaribe School, of the Domestic Trade Ministry.

Dr. Pedro Veliz, Director of the National Council of Scientific Societies explained that this forum is an integrated event because the bio-psycho-social and spiritual wellbeing are united and highlighted that health of the Cuban people is responsibility of the Health Ministry.

A round of negotiations between companies, with special interest in foreign investment in Cuba will be part of the event.

The Congress intends to set the bases for the creation of the First International School of Esthetic and Cosmetology in Cuba and the launching of a new tourism product that exploits the potential of Cuban health.
