Cuban Health System Praised in Equatorial Guinea

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 3 (acn) The Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Equatorial Guinea, Juan Ndong Nguema, praised on Wednesday in Malabo the level of development of health in Cuba and called for expanding cooperation with the Caribbean nation in this sector, Prensa Latina reported.

That development is found in the production of medicines that help improve the quality of life or eradicate certain diseases such as diabetic foot ulcers, said Ndong Nguema while receiving Cuban Ambassador Pedro Dona.
He also considered the increase of study centers to train health personnel, including research staff as an achievement of the Cuban Revolution.
The Equatorial Guinean official recently traveled to Cuba with Ndong Nguema, vice-minister in charge of university education in the Ministry of Education and Science, and Maria Jesus McAra Owono Mze, for an official visit at the invitation of his counterpart Roberto Morales.
Dr. McAra Owono Mze participated in the 2nd International Conference and With All and for the Good of All, held in Havana on January 25-28.
During tbeir stay, the two executives held meetings with officials of the Ministries of Health, Education, Higher Education, visited places of interest and held exchanges on real possibilities to further expand cooperation.
