HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 13 (acn) A special acknowledgment was sent in this capital on Monday to the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, and Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers, for their contributions to the development of meteorology in Cuba.
Miguel Diaz-Canel, member of the Politburo of the Cuban Communist Party and First Vice-president of the councils of State and Ministers, received the certificates from Elba Rosa Perez, Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, and Celso Pazos, Director General of the Meteorology Institute, an institution celebrating the 50th anniversary of its creation.
They contributed their continued support to the development of the country's alertness and early warning system for the protection of human lives and the island's economy, specifies the document made public at the main meeting for the anniversary.
