HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 24 (acn) Cuba has well trained professionals and advanced technology in criminal investigation, said Cuban Forensic expert Jorge Gonzalez Perez, Dean of Havana´s School of Medical Sciences.
Gonzalez, with forty years of experience in the field offered a master conference on the state of forensic sciences on the island during the 9th Symposium of Criminal Technics Tecnicrim 2015 which kicked off Wednesday at Havana´s International Convention Center.
According to Gonzalez Perez, there has a political commitment in the country during the last 50 years to maintain and sustain the permanent development of criminal techniques in addition to training Cuban specialists both inside and outside the country.
He also stressed the close cooperation among the different research centers, universities and legal medical and criminal systems to solve cases.
The Cuban forensic expert emphasized to the over 200 national and foreign delegates accredited to the event in the unity of scientists, forensics, technicians, attorneys and crime experts the importance of unity in favor of investigations and solution to crimes compared to other countries where the market is prioritized and knowledge is privatized.
Gonzalez also called the attention that despite the availability of laboratories with important equipment to analyze samples in addition to the use of sophisticated means to work at the crime scene, the professionals of the sector should not forget the classic crime techniques.
The inauguration of the event also had the assistance of Dr. of Sciences Vladimir Bagdanov, head of the Russian Crime Institute who spoke on crime investigation that threats the integrity of the States like drug, human and substance trafficking and others.
As part of the first day of work books entitled, Cuban Criminal Sciences, History and its Progagonists, Traffic Addicents, Criminal Perception, Explosions and Bombs and Criminal Theory of Fingerprints were presented, all of Cuban authors.
The forum includes experts from Chile, Ecuador, France, Russia, Equatorial Guinea, Italy, México, Congo, Uruguay and Viet Nam which is scheduled to conclude on Friday.
