NUEVA GERONA, Cuba, Jan 7 (ACN) In an effort to strengthen medical attention to foreign patients, Cuba opened an office in the Isle of Youth to provide this service both at local level and at its natural tourist park in Cayo Largo del Sur.
According to Dr. Bárbara Daudinot Gómez, municipal director of Public Health, the office will improve the management of these services, especially for hospital patients, whereas other plans include the expansion of specialized care in local spas and hotels with the support of health professionals and medical students.
With this new service―aligned with the celebrations for the 66th anniversary of the Revolution―the Isle of Youth joins the Cuban regions that have a Cuban Medical Service Office, which reasserts the country's commitment to the provision of high-quality health care to tourists and other foreign visitors.
