Cuba has already 250 children's homes

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 6 (ACN) The Cuban government reported on X that there are currently 250 children's homes throughout the country, of which 69 were opened in 2024.

The information added that seven rooms have been recovered in the children's daycare centers and it was possible to satisfy the enrollment needs of 45,140 children, which represents 76.3 % of the demand.

The Children's House is a variant of early childhood educational care, in the institutional modality, where services are provided to children, children of mothers, fathers or legal guardians, in entities that, based on their economic and material conditions, can allocate funds for their opening, maintenance and guarantee their sustainability.

These centers were created after the approval of Resolution 58/2021 of the Ministry of Education, which makes the centers responsible for the selection of the premises, furniture and material resources required; and they are responsible for ensuring that no significant differences are generated in relation to the children's daycare centers.
