International Symposium on Heritage Wraps up in Central CubaCAMAGUEY, Cuba, Feb 4 (acn) After three days of lectures and discussions on the role of tourism as a development factor in heritage sites, the 9th International Symposium Challenges in the Management of Cities, which was held since Monday in this city, concludes today.

The economic value and heritage conservation for tourism, historic cityscape, cultural identity and authenticity of its message were among the issues discussed in the working days of the event.

With over 140 participants, the event was part of the programming of Camagüey Cultural Week, which today also includes the beginning of the fifteenth edition of the event Histo Camagüey.

Like every year, this forum will focus on the importance of local history in teaching and learning processes, and values education.

He will also finish the 26th Meeting of Camagüey Writers, with the panel for the 25th anniversary of Ácana publishing house and the presentation of the books Pisto Manchego, by Nicolás Guillén, and Romance de un pueblo viejo, by Manuel Villabella.

The granting of Distinction 501 to local personalities, for the anniversary of the former Villa de Santa María del Puerto del Principe, will continue at Major General Ignacio Agramonte Square, and the singer Lidis Lamorú will offer a concert in the central Plaza del Gallo.

The activities for Camagüey Cultural Week, until next Saturday, also include performances, exhibitions, events and recreation along the entire city.
