Cuban central province hosts event on Angiology and Vascular Surgery

CIEGO DE AVILA, Cuba, Sep 22 (ACN) Specialists in Angiology and Vascular Surgery in Cuba have their forum for debate and exchange experiences starting today in Ciego de Avila, where the 3rd Scientific Conference of this specialty, which is in charge of diagnosing and treating diseases of the circulatory system, began.

The event will be held in both attendance and virtual modalities, from September 22 to October 22, and includes lectures, presentations of free topics and research updates to be offered by doctors and doctors of science in this important branch of human health.
In the case of the virtual form, the exchange will take place through the ANGIOCAV 2023 website, as reported to the local press.

PhD in Sciences Jorge Luis Carrera Martinez, president of the Section of the Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery of this territory pointed out that the organization of the event is a recognition of the effort of many years of work of angiologists, vascular surgeons and professionals from other related specialties who contribute with their actions in the care of those afflicted by the arterial, venous and lymphatic system.

This edition will have a scientific-research-educational focus, since, in addition to workshops on medical education and the control of diabetes and its most severe complications, the new training program for residents of the specialty will be presented, said the physician, who is also a full professor and researcher.

Lectures will be given on: Surgical variants of carotid revascularization, Conventional surgery of abdominal aortic aneurysm, Treatment of complex ulcers with intelligent healing algorithm changes the perspectives of this process, Surgical principles in the treatment of neuro-infectious diabetic foot, among others.

The main strength of this specialty is to merge in the same Angiology, focused on diagnosis and medical treatment, with Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, which provides all the procedures, both surgical and interventional, necessary for the care of the different vascular disorders.
