HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 27 (ACN) After the devastating earthquakes that had as epicenter the province of Kahramanmaras, in Türkiye, Cuban health professionals have carried out more than 2,500 procedures in ICU of the hospital of that territory.
This was stated by the head of the Cuban medical brigade, Juan Carlos Dupuy Nuñez, who explained that the team of 32 specialists is made up of pediatricians, obstetricians, orthopedics, emergency and intensive care physicians, paramedics, nurses, anesthesiologists and psychologists.
According to a report by the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), the leader of the group assured that they have attended medical cases directly and indirectly related to the earthquake, since many patients also suffer from chronic conditions decompensated by stress.
The Cuban professionals, who arrived in Türkiye on February 12, are working at the Necip Fazil Hospital in Kahramanmaras, at the Yörük Selim Polyclinic and at an outpatient clinic in the municipality of Elbistan, and also carried out medical examinations in some of the remote localities of the province, Dupuy Nuñez added.
The specialist further emphasized that the brigade will remain there attending to the victims as long as necessary.
