HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 7 (ACN) Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz called today to increase surveillance and demanded strict observance of Cuban health protocols to avoid fresh outbreaks of disease now that the end-of-year festivities are drawing near.
Marrero Cruz stressed the importance of complying with the measures in place to reduce the number of COVID-19 and dengue fever cases in the country.
On her end, Tania Margarita Cruz Hernández, First Deputy Minister of Public Health, remarked that COVID-19 has caused no deaths in the last 15 weeks, nor any new clusters have been reported.
As to dengue fever, the incidence rate of suspected cases decreased by 17.2 % with respect to the previous week as health controls are reinforced in workplaces across the country.
