Cuban President insists on vital need to tackle dengue fever

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 14 (ACN) Timely treatment and medical qualification are vital to win the battle against dengue fever, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel remarked at a meeting with researchers from the Pedro Kourí Institute of Tropical Medicine (IPK) and experts from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) to evaluate the country's epidemiological situation regarding the said disease.

The Cuban head of state underscored both the importance of the medical staff’s professional skills and the need to see a doctor as soon as dengue symptoms appear.

Those present cited the doctors’ training and qualification in the clinical management of patients, people’s knowledge about disease control and symptoms and the promptness of a medical consultation as some of the main treatment-related aspects for consideration.
