Cuba prioritizes forensic work to identify mortal victims of fire in Matanzas

MATANZAS, Cuba, Aug 16 (ACN) The priority Tuesday is the work in the laboratories for the study of bone fragments and objects found, said Jose Angel Portal Miranda, Cuban minister of public health, in reference to the forensic work linked to the fire in the industrial zone in Matanzas.

After last Monday the multidisciplinary team of specialists carrying out the forensic work in the areas of the fire at the Matanzas Supertanker Base concluded a first search in the area of the incident, the main actions were carried out in the laboratories, he explained.

There they are working on the characterization and classification of each one of the bone remains found, for which they are analyzing and describing all the details, with the purpose of looking for signs that allow their identification, Portal Miranda continued.

In the same way, the evaluation of the objects found in the different quadrants of the search area continues, in order to establish their possible correlation with one of the missing persons, the health head concluded.
