HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 5 (ACN) The anti-COVID-19 booster vaccination, which is applied in Cuba to increase the levels of protection of the population, has reached 7,460,836 people, with the immunogens developed in the country to face the pandemic.
The daily report of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP by its Spanish acronym) indicates that out of this figure, 324,789 people received this booster as part of the clinical study, and 7,136,047 in the booster vaccination that is being applied to the population of selected territories and groups at risk.
The additional doses are applied to those who have already completed the immunization schedule against COVID-19, which in Cuba are 9,979,568 people: 90.1 % of the population.
According to MINSAP, as of August 3, 10,685,755 people had received at least one dose, including those convalescing from the disease, vaccinated with Soberana Plus as a single dose.
Of this total, 9,420,927 people have received a second dose and 9,122,548 have received a third one.
The country totals 39,483,430 doses of national vaccines administered.
Since March 2020, since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Cuba, 1,108,621 patients with the disease have been reported, of which 1,099,543 (99.2%), have recovered.
