Four killed and over 10 injured in explosion in Hotel Saratoga in Havana

HAVANA, Cuba, May 6 (ACN) Four dead and 13 people are the preliminary toll of human damages caused by the explosion at the Saratoga Hotel this morning, informed the first secretary of the Cuban communist party in Havana, Luis Antonio Torres Iribar.

It is presumed that those affected included passers-by at the time of the explosion, Torres Iribar added, and clarified that it was an accident whose causes are being investigated at this moment.

The firefighters are working to obtain all the information of what is happening inside and to rescue possible injured people, he declared.

The children of the elementary school located in front of the hotel were evacuated to the Capitol, as well as the families of the building next to the tourist facility, Torres Iribar pointed out.
