Havana, April 29 (ACN) Cuban bio-pharmaceutical companies signed 18 accords with foreign counterparts to boost alliances in the production of drugs and equipment to improve the people’s health.
High on the list of accords reached during the BioHabana 2022 Biotec Congress, are international contracts to commercialize the Cuban product Heberprot-P; economic cooperation and business agreements, and a Memo of Understanding to set up a joint venture in the Mariel Special Development Zone to develop and commercialize innovative products.
The accord-signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo and Marta Ayala, member of the Cuban Communist Party Politburo and general director of the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Center.
During the BioHabana 2022, running in Havana till Monday, entrepreneurs and representatives from Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Australia and other nations praised the work of the Cuban biotechnological sector.
